About

Beginning a creative project.

Puddleglum is a character created by C.S Lewis in the seventh (and my person favourite) book in the Chronicles of Narnia. Puddleglum is a marshwiggle – a large and lanky man with grey/green skin. He is absolutely and hilarioiusly an optimistic pessimist, making him easily one of my favourite fictional characters. His inner monologue being spoken outloud in the book, The Silver Chair, has become a very relatable voice in my adulthood. Being chronically ill and living with mental illnesses gives me both optimistic and pessimistic point of view. Some days I’m one or the other. Other days, I’m both.

I’ve been wanting to create a writing space for a while now, but the thought of taking the time to create something like this without anyone to read it deterred me away. I want to write things that people will want to read, but I don’t want to write something empty. Authenticity is a fundamental aspect of who I am. No matter what I write, that will always bleed through my creative outlets.

Now for some conventional “about me” information. I am from Ontario, Canada and would like to disclose my age as being a young woman. I identify as pansexual and am of primarily Scottish descent however, I do have mixed ancestry. I live with C-PTSD and Fibromyalgia which have a harsh effect on my day-to-day living. This is something I will write about often, as I believe it is so important for those living with disabilities are seen and heard. I’ve been writing poetry for years, but nothing of note as of yet.

Values

What I promise to deliver in each piece.

Authenticity

It requires more effort to pretend to be someone I’m not, and I do not believe it does me any service to hide who I am. I want to be trustworthy, I want to provide people with a safe space because I know how hard it is to find one.

Education

I adore research and learning, and I aim to do that with my pieces. I don’t only want to provide my own thoughts and opinions (although that may not be shared with every topic), but I want to provide as much information as possible to allow you to come to your own conclusions.

Passion

My pieces will always be about something that really interests me. Whether that be something I’m experiencing, learning, or doing, I tend to have an obvious passion that I’m sure will translate into my words.

Respect & Consideration

All of my pieces will have an audio recording to make it more accessible. When I write about topics outside of my expertise, I aim to be as consciously respectful and considerate as I can. I highly encourage feedback, because your voice and your opinions matter, especially with sensitive topics.
